Judge away...

After an exhausting trip to the mall, I decided to buy a harness/leash for Sam to wear at the airport when we go to Hawaii. It's cute, at least, and he likes it so far. I'm just afraid he's going to learn to unbuckle it by himself.

Coyote's Flying Saucer Retrievals and Repair Service

Sam has been sick so I've been keeping him out of his activities. We did go to Fanuel Park on the way to Trader Joe's to play for a bit but I could tell he was not feeling well. 

As we were leaving the store this little gem pulled into the parking lot. The side of his door reads "Coyote's Flying Saucer Retrievals and Repair Service."  I wish I had gotten a picture of the driver! He was in a jumpsuit with crazy sunglasses.

Memorial Day Weekend

Sam was a little under the weather this weekend and we probably should have kept him home.  He wasn't acting very fussy though and I thought he may just be teething until John and I caught whatever bug he had.
We spent Saturday at the beach with the Forgiones.  Sunday we went to Sophie's birthday party and then a BBQ at the Ellis' new house. Monday we relaxed and recovered.

Chemical Imbalance?

The YMCA called to cancel swim lessons due to a "chemical imbalance" in the pool. I guess there was a swim diaper failure.  So I took Sam to play at Peter's house and then we went to the Rec center on the way home.

Beach Picnic & Beaumonts

We met the Murphy girls for a picnic today at Little Point. The kids love playing in the tide pools. Then we met Dylan with his mom and nanny for dinner at Beaumonts. They are donating all of the proceeds from kids meals to Bird Rock Elementary this week.

Dylan's Birthday Party

"Hulabaloo Steve" came to entertain the kids at Dylan's birthday party. He play some kid classics and great originals. Sam also loved playing in the water table. Elsa was not impressed when shirtless sand-covered Sam came over and got the car she was sitting it dirty.

The James' gave Sam a subscription to Hello! magazine (Highlights for babies) He and John both love reading it.

A heat wave came through today so Sam rocked the precious bubble outfit that SFE made for him

BBQ at Peter's House

Peter invited Sam, Dylan, Parker, Sophie, and their parents over for a BBQ.  Peter's dad made a wonderful tri-tip and the kids had a blast playing together. John is going to have to teach Sam some moves though. Dylan won their wrestling match.

Babyproofing, Music, and the Wagon

Sam seems to think that all of our babyproofing efforts are challenge that we set up for him. He's successfully removed about 80% of the bumpers, cabinet locks, etc. that we spent hours installing.  The fireplace was tricky and he got very frustrated, but he had conquered it by the time we had to leave for music class.

Swim Lessons

Sam had his first swim lesson at the La Jolla YMCA today.  We had a semi-private class with Dylan, Peter, and Sophie.  Peter wasn't a big fan of the pool and only stayed in for a few minutes.  Dylan and Sophie loved it and were splashing like crazy.  Dylan was even sticking his head under the water! Sam didn't know what to think about the pool.  He didn't hate it but didn't love it either.  I'm hoping he grows to enjoy it more.
